Implicit bias refers to the attitudes or stereotypes that affect our understanding, actions, and decisions in an unconscious manner. The Embrey Foundation is developing a series of documentary abstract dance short films to bring awareness to the subconscious perceptions we all carry regardless of race, gender, status, or orientation. These perceptions influence our decision-making and our behaviors. The goal of our campaign is to continue utilizing the arts for social justice to give our audiences a new understanding of the consequences of our preconceived perceptions of others upon ourselves and those around us.
